The Coalition on Homelessness organizes homeless people and front line service providers to create permanent solutions to homelessness, while working to protect the human rights of those forced to remain on the streets.

Proposition C, Our City Our Home, passed in San Francisco in November 2018. The bold measure tackles the homelessness crisis by taxing the City's largest corporations ($50M+ in revenue) to fund proven solutions to homelessness: housing, homelessness prevention services, mental health services, and shelter.

The California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative’s mission is to improve the health, safety and rights of the nail and beauty care workforce to achieve a healthier, more sustainable and just industry by working with nail salon workers and owners.

Berkeley, CA

• Lead and facilitate weekly discussions and activities around current events, homelessness, and community building with homeless clients
• Create and execute advocacy and education programs and events around homelessness, including the annual community and school-wide Poverty and Homelessness Symposium
• Provide tools for employment, housing resources and medical services to homeless in Berkeley
• Maintain lasting relationships with homeless clients and act as an advocate for the homeless

Conducted research on food accessibility by analyzing in-depth qualitative data of Oakland residents' experiences with grocery stores with UC Berkeley sociology doctorate, Kara Young. Presented research at the 2016 American Sociological Association conference in Seattle, Washington.

• Created surveys and conducted interviews with traditional medicine practitioners in formal Spanish
• Analyzed data, created reports, and presented to the head of the program for Recuperation of Traditional Medicine
• Built relationships between government institutions, social organizations and traditional medicine practitioners to integrate alternative medicines into conventional medical institutions bringing greater awareness of.

San Francisco

• Analyze data and write a census report for homeless families living in San Francisco
• Coordinate and conduct research about the vendor program, where homeless individuals act as homeless advocates by selling the Street Sheet, a street newspaper published by the Coalition which covers issues of homeless.
• Write and edit articles about current issues surrounding homelessness in San Francisco
• Organize and lead writing workshops for potential writers of the Street Sheet

Oakland, CA

• Effectively teach health education workshops in Oakland public high schools on a weekly basis
• Attend weekly seminars to learn about new teaching methods and discuss health issues in youth/low-income populations

Fruitvale, CA

• Tutored low-income fourth and fifth grade students in English and Math at St. Elizabeth’s 21st Century After School Program
• Conducted a case study on the role of positive and negative reinforcements used in the classroom, took detailed field notes and conducted interviews with school administration and students
