Project Officer working on the development and delivery of the Universities marketing strategy for Massively Open On-line Course's (MOOCs). The role is focused on developing a large and varied community of learners, along with University wide co-ordination of promotional activity.Key Skills Developed:On-line Learning Knowledge - The role involved significant research into MOOCs, and the variety of models for delivery/learner engagementMarketing - I was responsible for producing a sustainable marketing plan that could be delivered without my direct involvement for use in future courses.Evaluation methods - In order to monitor the success of potential marketing techniques I have embedded evaluation into the planning so that the promotional activity can improve over time.

Head of a complex £7m membership organisation of over 300 staff and 1000s of volunteers, whose mission is to unlock the lives and enrich the potential of more than 22,000 students.In order to be appointed as President for two years I was successful in two cross campus elections running University wide campaigns achieving a majority of almost 80% of the 6000+ votes cast by the second year. Key Skills Developed:- Public Speaking – Delivered a wide range of presentations and talks from high level board rooms to hundreds of students- Complex Budgeting – Directly responsible for a budget of £160k, with overall responsibility for an organisational budget of £7m- Time Management – essential when balancing a varied set of priorities and tasks- Negotiation – able to engage with professionals at all levels, from community leaders and residents to Vice Chancellors and cabinet ministers- Campaigning – leading and managing both elections and cause based campaigns, engaging with a population of over 20,000 successfully converting thousands Significant Achievements:- Negotiated for the development of a facilities master plan to invest heavily in the student experience across a wide geographical range of University campuses- Supported the setting up and development of a new students association in Malaysia- Led and delivered cross campus campaigns, including 2 elections and 1 referendum, all resulting in substantial engagement with the student community.- Shaped University policy around two years of Access Agreements (the support provided by the University to widen participation)- Delivering two conferences with the OST methodology as part of the development of key union strategies.

Worked as a student ambassador in a wide range of roles as a part of the Universities outreach and recruitment activities. Roles undertaken include tour guide, school presentations, admin work, residential mentoring, and residential team leader for both day and night shifts.Key Skills:- I developed my presentation skills in giving a range of presentations on various topics around recruitment and higher education- I took on higher responsibilities on regular residential events for local school children.
