My role involved examining patent applications for novelty or a clear inventive step based on evidence found whilst searching relevant prior art. Once I have completed my evaluation, I wrote reports identifying any concerns to allow the applicant to amend their applications to allow the grant of a patent. The job demanded excellent analytical skills and required me to use a scientific method of evidence-based reporting.
