Parallelizing complex models in the cloud environment using AI techniques and accelerated computing (multi-CPU/GPU).

Gravity Waves (GW) are created by natural disturbance/hazard in atmospheric gravitational waves. Pattern of GW tells different story in the climate change. Currently, Seraj is working with the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) to detect the GW using state-o-the-art techniques. As a first part, he already detected GW with ~95% accuracy jointly with a REU team and the publication is pending its resutls. As the second part, Seraj is currently working on Localizng the GW within Satellite images. more updates will be available soon.

NSF funds undergraduate students accross all US universities each year to provide research experience through variety of research labs. In BIGDATALAB @UMBC, we advised a team 5 students from different universities to work on a Earth Science Project to identify Gravity Waves from Satellite noisy images. The outcome of the work will be available in couple of weeks.

CNN based Ocean Eddy identification using GPU instances of AWS SageMaker and EC2 to understand the scope of climate change research in the cloud for Bigdata research. Report will be available in couple of weeks.

Worked under maintenance team (Methods & Tools) which provides environment for testing the Builds. Finding build compilation errors, classifying them, and fixing the bugs were the main tasks through some scripts developed in perl and sql. In addition to that, maintaining all the logs and documentation was on the tasks list!
