I joined Frankie, a facilities management SaaS startup, as CTO, after 21 years at the company I cofounded, Silverstripe. I’m keen to keep helping the NZ software community, as well as getting stuck into a high-growth globally-focused startup in Frankie!

I've enjoyed mentoring teams involved in Creative HQ accelerator programmes, especially as Silverstripe was one of the first companies to be a part of the original Creative HQ incubator way back in 2002. It has been an opportunity to share business & technology insights with a number of fledgling start-ups.

Supporting Georgie and Aaron with Frankie went so well that I ended up joining the team as CTO following the programme.

As a co-founder of Silverstripe, I've been a director from day 1 – these days I remain a non-executive director following my tenure as CEO.

I was proud to have been CEO of Silverstripe for 10 years, taking us from 30 people to almost 90. During that time we grew our agile development practises, delivered the Common Web Platform for the New Zealand government, released Silverstripe Platform, and versions 3 & 4 of Silverstripe CMS, as well as innumerable projects for our clients. In March 2021 I stood down and handed over the reins to Wayne Yarr. I remain a shareholder and director of Silverstripe.

As CTO of SilverStripe, I oversaw the development of our products and the technical delivery of our client projects.

I am one of 3 owner / directors at SilverStripe. - I work with the other 2 Directors in the company's strategic management - Lead Developer and Product Manager for SilverStripe CMS, our flagship project - Project Management and System Architecture for our larger projects

As part of an advisory board for Aro Digital, I am able to share some of the hard-earned lessons of my time at Silverstripe with the next generation!

Mentored a couple of students in GSoC 2007 on a weekly basis, guiding their work on a 3 month project over the northern summer break.
