A personal investment project to acquire a poorly run and diminishing business, reinvigorate and grow. The business was a large, 7-day a week hair salon and retail business in Westfield Chermside with declining sales and profits over the previous 3 years. After acquisition significant changes were implemented including a name change from ‘Snippers’ to ‘Shaar & George’, new management was sourced, the product line upgraded, customer journey overhauled and a light refit to attract new target market. An online store was created too, shipping hair products nationally. A number of significant challenges were faced with the staff throughout the process, in the midst of loosing existing clientele and gaining new clientele within our new target market. First year levelled losses with second year recording growth. The business was acquired in October 2014 to Evolve Salons, a large national salon chain.
