Through my reporting over the past seven years, I worked to find voices that weren't being heard in the communities I covered. I increased coverage of the LGBTQ+ community in Door County, Wisconsin, and joined a brand new team with the USA TODAY Network Atlantic Group to continue this effort. I'm proud to say I've stuck with passion I've had since age 15. I wrote for my high school newspaper, and by my senior year of college, I ran UW-Madison's student newspaper, The Daily Cardinal. Now, with a more advanced skillset, I still write and report while living in the media capitol of the U.S., New York City.I'm emboldened in front of the camera or microphone; I've hosted radio shows, podcasts and video series in my career. But writing is absolutely my top strength. Beyond news, I penned the occasional music journalism piece. I've interviewed up-and-coming musicians and reviewed concerts. And, two journals have published fiction short stories I've written. It's clear in all my storytelling that the styles complement one another. I love editing and participating in writing critique groups because it motivates me to help other people comb through words until they have a beautiful, tangle-free story. I'm not afraid of exchanging feedback and working collaboratively.
