I worked through Acro Service Corporation as a leadership development consultant working with various Operations leadership to help them to become better leaders. This entailed various training modules for first level and mid-level leaders as well as competency assessments for OIMs (Offshore Installation Managers) and OSMs (Onshore Site Managers).

My responsibilities included completion and production engineering as well as production operations for this startup company focusing on the Wilcox trend in South Louisiana. Initially, I also performed detailed reservoir engineering until a Reservoir Engineering Manager was brought onboard. When arriving at Midstates in August 2009, production was 1500 boepd. In 2-1/2 years, production had increased to 15,000 boepd and we were completing wells producing in excess of 1000 boepd through innovative and modern frac techniques. Never before had the Wilcox completions produced anything near the rates we were able to achieve. During my tenure, we did not experience any recordable injuries and had lifting costs of $5.29/boe which was the lowest amongst our peer group.

Began career with Amoco working Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama oil and gas fields. I held various engineering and operations roles with increasing levels of authority and responsibility. I have spent half of my career working onshore assets and the other half working Deepwater GoM assets. I have also held positions dealing with acquisitions and divestments.From August 2005 to retirement from BP in August 2009, I was the Thunder Horse Operations Manager. Thunder Horse is the world’s largest and most advanced semi-submersible; about 50% larger than the next largest floating semi-submersible production drilling quarters vessel, and operates with a crew size of approximately 300 people. Total displacement for the PDQ is 130,000 metric tons and the vessel holds the largest offshore power generation plant (110 megawatts) in the world. The facility was brought on line in June 2008 and quickly ramped up to nameplate capacity of 275,000 bbls of oil and 225 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.Prior to working Thunder Horse, I served as Operations Manager for Marlin and Horn Mountain. Marlin is a Tension Leg Platform (TLP) set in 3240’ of water and was BP’s first Gulf of Mexico floating facility. The facility was brought on line in December 2000 and production quickly increased to 330 mmcfd and 50,000 bopd from both dry tree wells and subsea well tiebacks. The Marlin wells were world class producers with three of the wells ranked in the top five biggest producers within all of BP. The Horn Mountain SPAR is set in 5400’ of water and was BP’s first SPAR. At the time we brought Horn Mountain online, it had the deepest dry tree wells in the world and produced 70,000 bopd and 70 mmcfd.Before working Marlin and Horn Mountain, I was the Operations Manager for the Pompano, Amberjack, and Troika Operations Teams. At the time, these were all of BP’s operated deepwater platforms in the Gulf of Mexico and produced at a combined rate of 140,000 bopd and 200 mmcfd.
