In this role, I maintain a clean and organized hospital environment to ensure the best care for patients, and that medical staff have all the tools they need to provide that care.

Working alongside a team, helped with multiple conservation projects across a 700-acre property. I collected and sorted insect samples to monitor biodiversity, assisted with plant surveys, learned how to band raptors, along many other skills essential for conservation work.

After two years working as an RA I moved into a more senior role in which I helped develop and manage two Living Learning Communities at Lewis & Clark and advised RA's on event planning and community building.

I worked in Dr. Greta Binford's lab on projects investigating the functional diversity of venoms and how they affect activity at the cellular level, and projects working on arachnid biodiversity and taxonomy. I have worked on refining bioassays, cell culture, microinjection, and scanning electron microscopy. I also pivoted to explore pseudoscorpion diversity in leaf litter around Portland and start up a new effort in the lab to study lesser-known invertebrate diversity.

I support the College Outdoors program by preparing materials and gear for weekly trips, and by keeping gear organized, clean, and in working order. I have also assisted in managing the sign up and gear check out databases, as well as organizing the website and assisting in writing weekly newsletters.

Through a National Science Foundation program I worked in a biology research lab at Auburn University. I developed and conducted a study examining larval thermal tolerance in the Cassiopea system. I built skills in data management and analysis, project planning and management, aquaria maintenance and care, and scientific communication.
