As a private langauge teacher, I've taught both English and Spanish as second langauges to students ranging from adolescents to adults. I teach both basic, grammar-focus courses to low-level learners as well as higher level, conversation-based classes. My teaching philosophy is centered on providing students with a safe place for language exploration, using project-based learning as well as ludic methodology.

As an English teacher and conversational assistant at Santiago Rusiñol, I worked with local Spanish teachers developing lessons plans, leading classes, and heading extracurricular activities. I taught various classes including English, biology, history, and technology to students ages 12-18. Both years, I managed a Halloween costume contest and a creative writing contest; I also held daily conversational workshops for students to further practice their language skills. In my second year, I led the Global Classrooms initiative, a Model UN program designed for students in the Community of Madrid, which included a 6-month curriculum planning and moderating the final Global Classrooms conference in the Madrid capital.

Students spent 2 hours per day speaking exclusively English while completing activities related to dance, theater, crafts, and games. In this role, I along with my co-teachers created weekly lesson plans to guide students through specific grammar points and vocabulary topics.

As a bartender at Pangea Alchemy Lab, my roles included managing the bar indepenently two to three days per week including cash drawer management, tipping out the staff, opening and closing the bar, and inventory management. In addition, I worked closely with the bar manager to devise a system for weekly prep work as well as design cocktails for seasonal menus.

While a student at NCF, I worked as a teaching assistant for both Biochemistry I and Intermediate Spanish II. As a biochemistry TA, I held weekly sessions that primarily focused on clarifying doubts and preparing for exams. As a Spanish TA, I took a course on the acquisition of Spanish as a second language and had my first lessons on curriculum planning. My Spanish classes were complimentary to the main Spanish courses and help students find speaking confidence, further develop fluency, and learn about hispanic culture.
