I’m the COO of Good Luck Media, the first journalism studio for the biggest story on the planet. My co-founder Alessandra Ram and I believe that media has a climate problem. Too often, news and entertainment about climate focuses on debates that have already been settled or repetitive doom and gloom storylines – that’s if climate is discussed at all. At Good Luck Media, we’re doing things differently: We find unbelievable true narratives and produce immersive podcasts and screen adaptations that you’ll actually want to talk about.Prior to this, I was a newsroom leader and editor whose industry-leading teams at Vox, Recode, and BuzzFeed News have won Livingston, Mirror, and Webby awards. Teams under my leadership have steadily broken major, exclusive news from inside some of the world’s most powerful and secretive companies — including Amazon, Meta, and Apple — and spurred important policy and product changes. Reporting I’ve assigned and edited has been frequently cited in US Congressional reports and investigations. I also executive produced Vox Media’s Land of the Giants narrative podcast franchise and CNN’s Titans of Tech documentary series. Since I started my career more than a decade ago at WIRED, the span of the coverage I’ve overseen has included labor movements, climate change impacts, the biodiversity crisis, the intersection of health and science, tech innovations and their societal consequences, the inner workings of the media industry, billionaire power and philanthropy, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
