Sap Coe Hana Development InternSap Jan 2020 - Aug 2020Dublin, IrelandDuring my time as a SAP iXp intern I worked with the HANA Development team on various customer facing services and projects. Throughout my internship I had the chance to further improve my communication and presentation skills in a new environment. Within the first few weeks I was exposed to 2 new technologies (HANA and ABAP). I spent a lot of time upskilling in these areas to prepare me for work on a customer engagement.Alongside my work with the HANA team I had the opportunity to work as a developer on large internal projects which will be utilized by every employee in the SAP Center of Expertise. I also worked as a development lead on an intern project leading a small development team to complete an application. It was designed to improve efficiency in organizing onsite delivery in a post COVID-19 world.I am grateful for the experience I have gained and the to be given the opportunity to work in an office environment as well as a Work From Home alternative. -

Senior Embedded System EngineerÉirloop Oct 2017 - Sep 2018County Dublin, IrelandSenior Embedded System Engineer in the first Irish team ever to represent Ireland at the 2018 SpaceX Hyperloop Student Pod competition. The final of this competition had us compete and race against 19 other teams in California.During my work as a Senior Embedded System Engineer I worked with the Electronic team to design and build a control system for a pod capable of reaching speeds over 500km/h. Alongside this I worked with the Software team to design a communication network capable of receiving data and giving commands directly to the pod, efficiently without fail even at its highest speeds. Our final System has the means to calculate, make critical decisions, and receive orders at any point or speed during a run. In my personal work I programmed built and tested various subsystems within the pod to calculate the well-being of our power, braking and control systems. Such systems are responsible for checking the temperature and voltage of individual batteries in our power systems. This system is designed to verify if one battery is running hotter or giving more power when compared to each other cell in the system. The braking sub system is responsible for the calculated actuation of our brakes at any point in a run or as soon as a command is sent to do so. This System was designed to continuously check the pressure of the Hydraulic brakes and make efficient decisions based off of data received from the total well-being of the pod.Éirloop was one of 5 teams to have a pod run at the 2018 SpaceX Hyperloop Pod competition. We overcame huge challenges with limited resources and funding in an intense timeline to build a pod that set the fastest ever external subtrack record. To celebrate our efforts, design and professional attitudes during the competition we were recognized with the innovation award. -
