As a student nurse on placement, I had the opportunity of working closely with two community teams. One was the Intensive support team and the other was the complex needs team.These teams comprised of different health professionals like the Psychologists, Psychiatrists, occupational therapists, the SALT team, the GPs, social workers and Nurses.We worked together to support people in the community who have a diagnosed learning disability and are presenting with challenging behaviours. These clients live in the homes, supported living, or in the hospital. The major goal in caring for people is to ensure that the care being rendered is suited to their needs specifically. So, we ensured that we were very person centered in rendering our care. We made sure to involve our clients who had the capacity to make decisions in their best interest as well as their family members and carers felt well supported by our team.I have acquired a wide range of nursing skills in the process and built-up solid nursing proficiencies that would aid me in becoming a very competent nurse in the future. I also have very good communication skills both verbal and technological skills. I can use a wide range of communication skills to relate with my clients like the use of Makaton, social stories, Intensive interactions, easy-to-read materials, etc. And with the computer, i am Microsoft compliant, I can write progress notes on systemone, ppm+, schedule shifts on Parim and Etips and set up meetings on microsoft teams, zoom, etc.I am very passionate about my work and I practice very safe care with my clients, ensuring that they don’t feel neglected or abused by anyone caring for them and that all decisions made are in their best interest (especially for those that lack capacity). Basically, i ensure that all my clients under my care are properly safeguarded.

It is also considered as a grade given to them by a trusted authority and it adds to their brand value.I stay in touch with the employees to ensure that they have understood the standards of working well and remain approachable for consultation anytime. It is a part of my job to see to it that compliance of the management policies and important certifications happen.In case of quality control responsibilities in the security and safety industry they are supposed to know disaster management and also train the employees as to what to do during emergencies . He or she should instruct properly and procure all the required equipments for the same. For example, installing fire extinguisher at strategic places, see to it that they are changed after its expiry dates, ceiling sprinklers are put and are in working condition, etc.In technical fields, the workers are expected to know the technical know hows of the product the company is involved in.
