HealthCode was established as a 501c3 in 2009. HealthCode unites people in fun, healthy activities, so they enjoy the benefits of a happier, healthier more connected life. We envision a future where everyone enjoys the benefits of a healthy life free from chronic, preventable diseases. Our focus areas are physical activity, nutrition and environmental issues.COVID-19's stress on our lives is immense, from increased sedentary lifestyles to social isolation and more. HealthCode's monthly global virtual activity events can help your employees, families, and community stay physically active and safely socially connected. HealthCode’s initial program in the activity area, the Million Mile Month, was piloted in April 2014. There are now over 55,000 registrants from all 50 states, 36 countries, and 300+ organizations; who have logged over 7 million miles, burning 500+ million calories; potentially helping to save over $1,300,000 in healthcare costs. Individuals sign up at: https://healthcode.org/eventsOur first initiative, the Green Ribbon Schools (GRS) program, was launched in the spring of 2010 to encourage and recognize STEM, environmental and nature based projects within schools across the US, with 900+ schools registered across 40 states. In 2011, HC developed the Healthivores program to address the critical issues of childhood obesity and a significant lack of STEM skills and interests within today's youth. In its very first year, the Healthivores program had over 45 schools and nearly 800 students participate in the first Healthivores Video Game Contest.http://www.healthcode.org
