Sam Perversi-Brooks is a Hobart and Melbourne based architect (ARBV Reg: 17831, TAS REGISTRATION NO. 1286).Sam has a Master of Architecture from RMIT University, and was awarded the Australian Institute of Architects Graduation Prize and the RMIT Anne Butler Medal recognising design excellence for his thesis project.Sam also holds a BArch and Diploma of Building Design and Drafting from RMIT.Sam worked with Lyons for 8 years on the design, briefing, coordination and delivery of large scale institutional projects within the education, research, commercial and civic sectors. This broad-ranging experience help form a holistic view of the design and delivery of complex projects, including the Swanston Academic Building, the Latrobe Institute of Molecular Sciences, the College of Sciences at ANU, and 41X the headquarters for the Victorian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects.Sam was born in Melbourne and lived in New York City at a young age before moving to Tasmania where he spent most of his childhood. Sam moved to Melbourne to study in 2001 and spent over 15 years working in the Melbourne architecture industry. Sam has recently moved back to Tasmania with his young family, and is currently based in the Huon Valley, just south of Hobart.Always interested and engaged in expanding design ideas and knowledge within the broader discipline, Sam has taught within the Architecture department at RMIT University, he is also a regular guest critic at the University of Melbourne and Monash University.Perversi-Brooks Architects was formed in early 2014 to undertake a number of commissions along with other design, furniture and art practice.Please contact sam(at)perversi-brooks.com should you wish to discuss a possible collaboration or commission.
