I have a large amount of experience working in project management over a rangeof different projects in local government. Each one has required the soundapplication of project management principles and practices in a challenging localgovernment environment of decreasing resources and increasing demand. Coupledwith this I have developed and applied excellent communication skills withstakeholders both externally and throughout the organisation, organised my workand the individuals I have led effectively, and prioritised attention to detailthroughout. Working in a team responding to a high profile public Inquiry- the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA)- enhanced my analytical and problem solving skills a great deal.

I am a National Management Trainee on the National Graduate Development Programme, a programme run by the Local Government Association which places graduates in local authorities around the country. The programme lasts two years. During that time graduates will usually undertake 4 six month placements in order to increase their understanding of local government, gain a diverse range of skills and experiences, and get to know colleagues throughout the organisation. Placement 1: -Worked for Nottinghamshire's Libraries Service on the establishment of a new Community Benefit Society to run Nottinghamshires cultural, learning and library services- gained experience in writing Human Resource policies and procedures for the new organisation, engaging with Trade Unions, procurement, and engaging with staff in the change process - experienced the complexity of creating a new organisation and alternative service delivery model within the local government context Placement 2: - worked for the council's project management team supporting an adult social care project aimed establishing alternative ways for older adults to meet their social care needs within the community - gained experience of project management and increased knowledge of adult social care - worked alongside both internal and third party stakeholders, including the health sector Placement 3- supporting Nottinghamshire County Council's part in the work of the IICSA InquiryA- work in a cross departmental team to collate information to submit to the national Inquiry
