Sampath "Sam" Rajamanickam is a Principal at Design Collective, a multidisciplinary architecture and planning firm that creates innovative and sustainable solutions for a variety of clients and communities. He has over 26 years of experience in leading complex urban mixed-use projects, with a focus on enhancing student life and wellbeing on university campuses. He holds the LEED AP and WELL AP credentials, demonstrating his commitment to environmental and human health in design.Sam has successfully managed large, cross-functional teams and delivered projects that have had a positive impact on their campuses and neighborhoods. Some of his notable projects include the Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community at Bowie State University, the University Union Expansion and Renovation at Towson University, and the Live Learn Commons at University of the Sciences. His work has received multiple awards, including the ULI Awards for Excellence. Sam is passionate about understanding the role of design in promoting student wellbeing and fostering a sense of community. He is also a visiting critic and juror at Morgan State University, where he serves as a thesis advisor and mentor for graduate students.
