Isolated and cultured primary human mesenchymal stem cells were used as a model system to examine cell differentiation and survival. Additional projects included researching the role of fibroblasts in the erosion of bone surrounding artificial joints and methodologies to improve the accuracy and speed of detecting infection in artificial joints, specifically MRSA. Works published in Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (American), FEBS Letters, Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, etc.
