As a Tech Lead at Microsoft, I focus on developing and maintaining high-performance REST API services, while overseeing the infrastructure that powers them within the Copilot portfolio. I lead a team in crafting scalable, secure, and efficient systems, with a strong emphasis on API architecture and ensuring service reliability, all while driving technical excellence.

1. Windows Developer Insights (Aug 2017 - present) • I own the VS Code extension that annotates code with important information about reliability, feature rollout, etc. gathered through telemetry. Wrote the extension from scratch and grew its userbase from 0 to over 2000 monthly active users. Used telemetry data and user engagement to make decisions about feature prioritization, bug fixes, etc. Set up end to end DevOps and rollout process for delivering the extension Microsoft developers. • Enabled telemetry collection all the clients applications and services in the team by building the telemetry pipeline through App Insights, Azure Event Hub and Azure Data explorer. • I also created data pipelines for collecting data for different types of annotations to be surfaced to the developers and wrote most of the V1 services which delivered this data through web APIs. • I owned the Splunk cluster that was leveraged by different teams in Windows OS to ingest their telemetry from Windows devices all around the world. It ingested data of around 900GB/day and was used by more than 250 developers for ad hoc analysis and for dashboarding and reporting. 2. Windows Performance Gates (Dec 2015 - Aug 2017) • Created and maintain infrastructure for performance gating of Windows OS code. Specifically, I extended the scoring engine which analyzes the performance test results, created diagnostic and analysis capabilities based on big data solutions like Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Explorer in order to help Windows OS developers to find and fix performance issues in their code. I also improved the health and scalability of our services by migrating them to Azure cloud.

MSN Sports App (Feb 2015 - June 2015)• Enabled the app to comply with the peak memory cap imposed by the Windows OS by investigating and fixing the memory leaks. This reduced the App’s peak memory usage by over 20%. • Investigated app crashes through WinDbg and Visual Studio and fixed them, significantly reducing the number of crashes seen by the app.MSN Money Backend (Aug 2013 - Jan 2015)• Created REST APIs for serving financial data to the Android, iOS & Windows Apps and the MSN.COM website.• Developed a feature to stream stock price updates every 2 seconds to web pages on MSN.COM website, which included writing a very performance efficient job to pull data from provider, process it and push it to tens of thousands of Web pages in real time. • Reduced latencies and increased throughput, load testing and analysis. Monitored these APIs through automated tests and created tools for mitigating live site issues to ensure very high availability. • Set up the cloud services at newer data centers of Azure and contributed to automated deployment system, sanity, and stress testing of the cloud services.

This was a winter internship at Financial Systems and Software, Chennai, India during December 2011 and January 2012. It involved development of a question and answer forum (http://www.bullseyeanswers.com ). Project was implemented in MVC architecture and Symfony PHP framework was deployed for development. Many new features like content sharing through email, popularity rating of questions, etc. were included.
