I am an experienced development sector professional with 20+ years of experience working with national and state Government agencies, philanthropic donors, bilateral funders, civil society organizations, start-ups and entrepreneurs, industrial clients, IFIs, DFIs, PEs, legal firms etc. I have worked in and led a wide spectrum of water related developmental projects in Indian and foreign geographies. As part of my last employment with World Resources Institute India, I have led the Water Resilience practice to execute action research programs, technical advisory supports, policy development support, innovation support, multi-stakeholder outreach and engagement. I have worked with key decision-makers/ actors to identify and forecast urban water challenges and develop science-based solutions to achieve resilient water outcomes for all. My work focused on living infrastructure, climate adaptation and resilience including forecasting and communicating water risks; water sensitive urban planning and management; and adaptation and preparedness for climate disadvantaged communities. My living infrastructure projects were focused on conservation and management of waterbodies and related ecosystems to improve the performance of ecosystem services as part of climate resilience strategy. Further, my recent biggest initiative is based on ‘living laboratory’ approach, which is centred around community level actions to build climate resilience and to deliver triple bottom line (3BL) benefits.As part of my second last employment with ERM India, I led the Integrated Water Management work portfolio of ERM for the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Nort Africa geographies. In that role, my work helped to drive sustainable business growth as well as managing business related water risks in a water-finite world. I have assisted numerous companies across food and beverage, power, manufacturing, chemical, real estate sectors as well as several financial institutions and investors with water risk assessments, risk mitigation and water strategy innovation. I have technical competence in sustainable and resilient water infrastructure planning, water vulnerability assessment, water sustainability/water stewardship framework development, hydrogeological and hydrological assessment, watershed assessment, water harvesting and aquifer recharge, characterization and remediation of contaminated surface water bodies and groundwater, flood risk assessment and data visualization.
