• Support the monthly forecast process of Global Industrial Group (~$7B annual sales) through functional reporting and forecasting. Utilized collaborative tools to standardize and streamline process to improve clarity and efficiency. Developed documentation to assist with future training in the role.• Worked with Investor Relations team to provide quarterly deliverables for both external and internal use. Collaborated with divisional teams to draft commentaries of the previous quarter’s performance, a “CEO Themes” document for the CEO to use in Investor calls, and PowerPoint content for Board Meetings.

• Tracked procurement “Headwinds” which largely impact material prices. Created process to quickly update monthly and developed Power BI dashboard to display visualizations showing key changes month-over-month. Met monthly with procurement managers to stay up to date on status of Headwinds.• Further developed and improved “Price Transparency” process to track movement of material prices. Compiled material price lists from each plant in Latin America region and created files to estimate annual impact of price movements.• Aided the transition to a new and improved reporting tool. New tool provided Procurement managers a standard, streamlined way to track project performance and other metrics.

As a member of this selective program, I will complete three rotations that will allow me to get accelerated experience into Ecolab’s finance organization. FDP graduates can rely on a strong foundation of both technical and leadership skills that will position them for roles of increasing responsibility. Content of the positions can include providing management with financial analysis information, assessing the performance of a business unit, identifying areas of opportunity and risk, assisting in the preparation of annual finance plans, producing management reports, performing regular month-end general ledger maintenance and reconciliations, and participating in specialist projects. The Program also include robust business and leadership training through the Business Acumen Skills Integration Series (BASIS), the Professional Development Series (PDS), Green Belt training, mentorship and strong community support. These events occur on a quarterly schedule and provide FDPs with access to leaders from various parts of the organization.

Public Sector Services & Technology Business Units With approximately 30,000 employees, Travelers is a leader in personal, business and specialty insurance and the only property casualty company in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. During my internships, I supported the Public Sector Services and Technology Business Unit finance teams in both project-based work and monthly recurring reporting processes. Based on my performance, I was asked to repeat the internship program multiple times.• Analyzed underwriter productivity based on plan, actual and benchmark premium and policy counts. These productivity models were used by business unit leadership to plan and support the 2018 census plan.• Used “combo boxes” to analyze trends and determine why additional accounts were not obtained by the Public Sector business unit. Presented findings to the President of Public Sector where results were subsequently incorporated into future monthly financial reports distributed to the leadership team. • Improved efficiency of monthly staffing reports. Linked workbook data cube and leveraged formulas and macros to automate the process reducing report creation time from three days to thirty minutes. Final report was presented to business unit Chief Financial Officer. • Developed interactive template to assist the field in the annual business planning process. Using Excel macros, the template allowed the user to develop what-if planning scenarios of key financial measures to aid in more robust planning discussions. • Researched approximately 8,000 technology companies to determine if acquisitions or bankruptcies had occurred. Using the data obtained, produced a report to visually show the impact on retention and dollars lost through graphs and data tables.
