My responsibility is to provide advice, leadership, coordination and management on PMO processes and functions. To supervise the project managers with support functions and administrative support.I’m on to setting the standards for how the projects have to be managed within OL; this includes setting up the common practices, principles, and standard templates for managing projects. I’ve to ensure the project management standards initiated are being followed on regular basis. This leads me to evaluating and training project managers as following standards will let them be efficient in reusing the standard components resulting in saving time, money and other resources. I’ve established a practice of gathering project data and producing regular reports for management’s review. One of my key responsibility is to liaise between technical team and business team in order to provide value to both of them. Since I know the strategic objectives behind each of the projects that OL works on, I manage to help meeting those by getting them done by the technical team.Managing and facilitating the portfolio management process comes into my plate as well. This management benefits us in dealing with new project leads and their quick or detailed estimations. New Project requests have to be dealt on all the fronts i.e. requirements analysis, fit for the skillset we have and evaluating training needs for the team, prioritization, resource capacity based on our quarterly forecast plan. To manage the load of projects & team’s bandwidth by supporting HR in right hiring and supporting the client servicing team in prioritizing the jobs to be taken in.Currently, I’m running a standard advisory PMO and my goal is to evolve into a center of excellence for project management in order to provide more and more value to the project managers in my team, my technical team, and client servicing team. This is where REU will be responsible for architecture designing, SRS documentation and controlling all the phases of Software Development Lifecycle being a liaison between client and the development team.
