Structural Geologist
Madrid Area, Spain
Key responsibilities:· To deliver timely results to CEPSA's exploration & production assets on issues to be assessed through structural geology; understand structure timing, quality control of interpretations, characterize and model faulting styles from reservoir to basin scale, describe reservoir mechanical behavior, provide structural inputs to other disciplines, among others.· To assist Cepsa’s non-specialist staff on specific problems related to structural geology.· To keep up with the latest scientific, industry and software advancements in structural geology and modeling. Key projects:· An integrated structural study of a carbonate field in offshore UAE which included fault characterization, 2D and 3D restorations, and fault elastic dislocation modeling. · Investigation of across-basin changes in fault displacement in the Lotikipi Basin (Kenya) aimed at inferring the location of master faults defining basin geometry.· Quality control and improvement of a top reservoir structure for a field in the Ucayali Basin (Perú) integrating dipmeter measurements, 2D restorations and forward models, and fold geometry analysis, aimed at improving reserves estimation. My main working tool was the Move 2D Kinematic Modelling module, and I also implemented Python code into my daily work to run custom tasks.
