About Sam Roach-Gerber

I held my first job at the age of 14 working in a bottle redemption center, managing crowds of inebriated patrons and taking cigarette butts out of cans. By 16, I was cleaning toilets at a hotel, and actively avoiding used needles after weddings and mismanaged corporate events.Working a couple of grunt jobs as a teenager taught me about business, life, and myself: if you see something that needs to be done, do it; a thick skin is vital for both personal and professional resilience, and most importantly, a good sense of humor goes a long way.During college, I met my first badass female mentor. An entrepreneur that took no BS from anyone, carried herself with great confidence and fought every stereotype I had about what a founder is and looks like. She invited me in on her calls, product demos, investor meetings, and led me into the world of entrepreneurship.After college, I craved the fast-paced, multifaceted startup life I’d come to love. Serendipity led me to Vermont Farm Table. There, I faced the ugly reality of what it took to work for a startup fulltime. I had my hands in everything: communications, operations, finance, accounting, sales, web design, marketing, and customer service. No area of the business was off limits. It was exhausting yet personally rewarding. There, I rediscovered the importance of what I’d learned about myself and saw those skills flourish in the context of entrepreneurship. I found my calling. I’ve always known myself; what I want and don’t want, and used that awareness to help entrepreneurs find their direction. I’m a problem-solver and can help you find your path, even if it means giving you a ride to the trailhead.
