Director responsible for direct loan origination and note purchases throughout the US

• Oversee analytical team responsible for sizing and underwriting of balance sheet loans and equity investments. Originated in excess of $1.5bn of debt including whole loans, mezzanine loans, B notes, and CMBS across all property types. Invested in excess of $500mm of JV and preferred equity focused in retail and multifamily sectors.• Oversee all analysis and presentation composition, including cash flow modeling, property analysis, market research, demographic research, loan/equity structure, and term sheet/contract preparation.• Coordinate with closing and asset management teams to identify and resolve underwriting concerns and manage existing portfolio, including detailed cash flow UW, lease modeling, review of third party reports, ongoing surveillance, modeling potential modifications, etc.• Manage origination pipeline, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources to maximize deal flow.

Portfolio manager responsible for managing over $1BN of loans and REO in several funds and CDOs. Assets under management included whole loans, A notes, B notes, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, CMBS, rake bonds, and REO. Responsible for loan and pool level underwriting for acquisitions of loans, CDOs, management rights.• Successfully realized the majority of the Funds’ assets resulting in a projected equity multiple of 1.2x – 1.3x for 2008 vintage funds.• Analyze and underwrite senior, mezzanine, CMBS, and other loans, and underlying real estate collateral, for acquisition, surveillance, and in support of the purchase and management of senior and subordinate debt. Underwrote real estate and debt valued in excess of $400MM for purchase by CDOs, separate accounts, high yield funds, and on balance sheet. • Responsible for all day to day fund duties, including asset management, Operating Advisor duties, debt and real estate valuation and mark to market, disposition strategy and analysis, financing, and investor relations. • Develop, compose, present, and execute strategy and credit committee memos.• Negotiate and execute loan workouts and restructures with borrowers, servicers, and other lenders. Restructured CMBS and mezzanine loans with total balances in excess of $225MM, resulting in 100% principal and interest recovery within 12 months of restructure.• Analyze CMBS structures and individual loan documents to identify opportunities and ensure performance by servicers, trustees, borrowers, and other third parties.• Key member of Asset Management team responsible for over $4BB single asset portfolio consisting of whole loans, CMBS, B-Notes, and mezzanine loans, held in several CDOs and on balance sheet. • Develop financial, waterfall, and promote models in support of new business ventures allowing company to expand business lines.

• Member of the top producing originations team responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of over 30 fixed and floating rate loans totaling over $700MM for securitization and balance sheet. Completed origination analysis of commercial properties valued in excess of $20BB across property types including office, retail, ST retail, multifamily, industrial, flex, and hotel. • More than doubled team’s deal flow through highly proficient, effective, and rapid loan sizing.• Determined structure and pricing of proposed loans based on property conditions, market conditions, a review of in place cash flow and leases, and other factors.• Successfully composed credit memos, presented loans to Credit Committee and B-piece buyer, and coordinated with underwriters, closing teams, brokers, and borrowers to ensure timely closing of loans.
