CurrentSam Roecker works with campaigns and organizations across the country to create and execute communications, digital, and campaign strategies.Most recently, he served as spokesperson for Justice-elect Janet Protasiewicz's successful campaign for the Wisconsin Supreme Court – the most expensive judicial race in American history. This high-profile race was called the "most important race of 2023" and received national and international attention.During the 2022 election cycle, Sam served as a senior advisor and deputy campaign manager to Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers’ re-election campaign, where he oversaw the campaign’s communications, digital, and research departments. Evers’ victory was the first time since 1962 that Wisconsin elected a Democratic governor while Democrats held the White House.Previously he consulted and served as communications director for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Jill Karofsky's successful election in April 2020. Spending more than a decade in Iowa politics, Sam was also the Iowa State Director for John Hickenlooper’s 2020 presidential campaign.Prior to co-founding Path to Victory in 2018, he was communications director for the Iowa Democratic Party and former Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack. He also managed multiple local and federal campaigns across Iowa, and advised corporations and organizations across the country on public affairs strategy. In addition to his political work, he has advised attorneys on client recruitment and paid media for major mass torts, including a historic $13.5 billion settlement against Pacific Gas and Electric following devastating forest fires in 2017 and 2018.He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Journalism and Mass Communication and currently lives in Madison, WI.
