I'm a person who truly enjoys diving into and analyzing data, both qualitative and quantitative. Whether that's through the field of accounting, history, or supply chain management, I've found that I not only have a knack for quickly learning systems and information, I also can quickly analyze and interpret the data from doing so and create a product that fits the needs of the organization. In my current role as a Financial Reporting Consultant, I constantly seek to improve processes and solve problems, using my knowledge of Excel to greatly reduce the time required to perform routine tasks using advanced formulas and analysis. I actively seek out new and interesting ways to make processes simpler; whether by reducing monthly user input to updating a single-digit number of cells or creating advanced SEARCH formulas that return accurate results with only a copy and a paste - if something needs simplifying, I'm your guy.In my past role as a Research Support Specialist at The Henry Ford, I used my skills in interpreting data to create content for the organization that generated positive publicity, including a video that was watched by 10,000 concurrent viewers, a public presentation to a crowd of 40+ attendees, and a table display of archival material prepared in advance of Month of Design, which received overwhelmingly positive reviews from professional designers of all stripes.The common link between history and accounting is clear: Both take events that actually occurred and use the data from those events to generate a presentable and digestible product for stakeholders to use. Whether that product is a 75-page-long research paper with over 100 sources cited or an Excel workpaper synthesizing inputs from five different sources into one clear, condensed, and easily auditable financial picture - if it analyzes events, I'm all about it.
