Developing model policies for Cities focused on reducing Embodied Carbon in the Built Environment

Responsible for creation, development, & passage of AB 2446, the first bill in the United States to address embodied carbon in both private and public construction; working on follow up bill to create an Embodied Carbon Trading System to add additional incentives/enforcement to AB 2446.Continuing to help guide Mighty Buildings Sustainability Roadmap and Strategy.

Wreno removes the legal, scale, and operating barriers to qualify talent for high-paying institutional work.

Developed Sustainability plan for CBS music festivals in San Francisco

Worked with the IT Department for the City of Berkeley in preparing their Open Data Portal for launch. Responsibilities included creation of ETL processes to move data from legacy systems into a data warehouse where it was transformed for loading onto the platform; development of a potential parallel site to the one that launched in order to better understand the benefits and drawbacks of each; working with the Open Data Program Coordinator and other interns in interfacing with vendors; developing a focus group/training for City of Berkeley employees.

Identified energy efficiency opportunities for Commercial & Multi-Family Properties in the Southeastern United States, focusing on Charlotte, NC. This included examining the viability of installing solar, potential green building certifications and available tax credits.

• Coordinated the URI Environmental Satellite which is the holding place for the organization’s environmental imperative. Highlights of this are overseeing the annual Environmental Seed Grant allocation process; work on developing an Interfaith Eco-Action & Green Guide; organize monthly meetings of the members of the group from around the world by phone; part of the team moving forward our involvement at Rio+20• Coordinated the Voices for a World Free of Nuclear Weapons, a group of high level individuals (including former Sec. of State George Shultz, Ambassador James Goodby, Global Security Institute President Jonathan Granoff & others) of different faiths dedicated to ending the threat of nuclear weapons. Along with organizing the monthly conference calls this also includes drafting correspondence from the group to the African Union, the Heads of State of P5+1 countries involved in the Iran Nuclear Talks and others; organizing and executing global teleconferences on related topics• Organized and hosted quarterly in-person meetings of the President’s Council, which is a group of high level supporters comprised of business and community leaders from the Bay Area and nationally.• Coordinated the URI Peacebuilding & Conflict Resolution Satellite.
