He is an exceptionally prepared student and works hard. He is not afraid to ask questions, and constantly wants to strengthen his knowledge. He brought opinions and insights to our class discussions that showed his willingness to become an expert in his studies. Some of his key coursework and accomplishments include: -Preparing a research paper for a local establishment and reporting their accounting process, cost classifications, and company’s process and procedures for manufacturing overhead -Complete company analysis of Neenah Paper using their latest annual report -Key financial concepts he exceeded at were Time Value of Money, Stocks and their Valuation, Cost of Capital, Capital Budgeting, Financial Statements and Cash Flow, and Analysis of Financial Statements I have watched Samuel grow as an individual through his dedication and quest for professional experience. He strives to better himself through education. I wish him the sincerest in his pursuit for his goals. I recommend him to any organization seeking a qualified candidate.", and "I directly managed Samuel as a Marketing Intern during the summer of 2015. During his time at CDW, he was a valuable member of our integrated marketing team. The CDW internship program gives qualified students real-world experience and we selected Samuel due to his academic qualifications and prior internship experience. He is double majoring in Marketing and Finance at the University of Wisconsin - Parkside. This combination brought a unique value to the marketing internship program. As part of the program, the students have both individual projects as well as a team project in which they are required to present their findings to the Marketing Leadership team. On Samuel’s key individual project, he was responsible for consolidating the marketing spend and results of our annual March Madness and NFL brand campaigns from 2011-2015. The main goals of this project were to enable better spend analysis and management and enable a higher degree of predictability of outcomes. Samuel was able to consolidate and present his findings regarding marketing mixes and key ratios, such as CPM, CTR, CPC, impressions and more. This provided value to our team by allowing us to create strategies to drive increased ROI for our vendor partners and CDW. In addition, we used Samuel’s findings to help build our plan for the 2015 NFL and 2016 March Madness campaigns. The intern management team selected Samuel to lead the team project, a competitor analysis project. The competitor analysis results exceeded our expectations and covered in-depth seven key competitors to our organization. The presentation was delivered to the CMO’s executive staff and CDW coworkers followed by a pretty tough Q&A. Samuel and team executed this presentation with ease and met all deadlines and milestones. These findings were later circulated due to requests from coworkers. We have been using the findings for the basis of our ongoing competitive analysis. Samuel’s prior knowledge from Morgan Stanley and finance coursework allowed him to assist his peers in the competitor analysis. He is proficient in financial statement analysis (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) and he utilized his financial acumen to add greater value to the project. He also demonstrated excellent marketing knowledge, specifically promotions, product management, and consumer behavior. And, he was able to apply many prior concepts to CDW strategies. During the time I managed Sam, I saw leadership, teamwork, and the ability to guide peers. His strong communications skills and work ethic stood out as he continually exceeded expectations and assisted other interns when performing market research. Samuel demonstrated that he is a motivated learner, who possesses strong financial and marketing know-how. Samuel would be a great addition at any organization seeking a loyal, dedicated coworker that demonstrates strong marketing communication and financial skills and I highly recommend Samuel."
