About Sam Schatz

Sam is the CEO of Biohm Technologies which is creating the next generation of microbiome-based ingredients based on its unique and proprietary dataset. The data combines genetic analysis of the bacterial and fungal communities in our bodies with dozens of metadata points, allowing the company to adjust its formulations for hundreds of different cohorts. This dataset, combined with deep learning methods, bioinformatics and other AI-models, is helping to unlock the potential of the microbiome for human health. Sam joined BIOHM Health in May 2021 as the company's President and transitioned to CEO in December of 2023. He has played a leadership role in the expansion of the company's business and capabilities in addition to raising capital and managing the company's P&L. Sam was previously the first employee and Managing Director at AeroFarms, where he scaled the company to over 300 employees and operated some of the largest vertical farming operations in the world. Sam has over 15 years of experience in management, finance, and entrepreneurship and a proven track record of driving growth, innovation and impact.Sam serves on the Emerging Leadership Council at 92NY and on the Board of YPO Polaris. Sam holds an MSc in Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Political Science from Columbia University. Sam has also founded Social Citizen, an organization that develops curriculum for safe and responsible use of social media for children and parents.
