As the Purchasing Team Director, my primary objective is ensuring my team procures the highest quality collector vehicles on the market. There are three pillars that lead to success in this position: effective and timely project management, consistent goal setting, and crystal clear communication between team members. The collector car retail industry is forever changing and adapting to both the world economy and the preferences of it's customers, this means being open to change and actively pursuing new trends is necessary for survival.The project I'm most proud of spans from 2020 to 2021. During peak COVID-19 concerns, we implemented the setup and oversight of Salesforce for the Purchasing Team, which contributed to increasing the average gross margin per vehicle by a considerable amount. Our team was able to re-construct and streamline our purchase procedure, which increased productivity and throughput rate by 30%. We were able to create a touch-less purchasing process for customers, which eliminated travel expenses and further added to increased profit margins, while still maintaining high quality standards.

Right Management was my first introduction to the corporate communication and human resources realm. The outplacement services that Right Management offers will always be something that I praise them for. Thanks to these great people, I was able to connect with hundreds of clients and guide them through one of the most difficult times of their lives: a career transition. These conversations were often emotional and complex, which only enhanced my ability to read people's verbal cues and apply the correct solution. In my day-to-day, I was responsible for the initial and continued outreach to candidates during their career transition. I sought to ensure my end-goal: see every candidate through their respective career transition program and empower them to land their next career.In my time there, I was able to:1. Provide a clear and compelling introduction of Right Management's services to candidates, which led to 6% increase in overall take-up rate2. Successfully initiate 600+ candidates, which contributed to team goal of 70% total take-up rate3. Achieve the Summer Sales Goal three times - 30 Candidates Initiated Per Week

Working at the Grand Valley Speech Lab was one of the most rewarding roles I have had the privilege of experiencing. I was able to work with students of various age groups from all walks of life who were seeking to better their communication skills. This position was fulfilling, because it gave me the opportunity to develop very trusting relationships with my clients. Thanks to my supervisor, Dr. Carl Brown, I was given the tools needed to tap into every student's inner potential. Most importantly, it was in this role that I developed my most treasured skill yet: empowerment. The emotions I feel from giving a person the necessary tools to showcase their talents is truly unparalleled to anything else I've experienced.

I have to give a special thanks to my supervisor and overall life mentor: Jack Crawford of Loose Spokes Bike Shop. He is the most knowledgable and compassionate person I have had the pleasure working for. It was here at Loose Spokes that I fine-tuned my interpersonal communication skills. Jack taught me that a healthy, happy, bike-crazy lifestyle was a way of life, and when you become immersed into any passion you open doors to new ways of communicating with others that share your enthusiasm. I carry this mindset into every new position, it's so critical when making connections, whether it's with co-workers or outside entities.
