As the Finance member on the Senior Management Team, my role is to lead on the Financial Strategy , providing key support to the CEO on the overall Strategy of the organisation. The role tightly works with the Audit & Finance Committee / Trustee Board to ensure Trustees have a clear view on financial matters and are able to make strategic decisions. Across the Charity, finance works with departments to ensures the most effective and efficient operation and improving the customer experience.

Expanding on my role as Group Finance Manager to take on more responsibility in leading change projects and contribution to the RNRMC Strategy. In particular providing financial analysis and advice for the simplification of the Charities fund structure and recommendations for the Charities risk based reserves policy. Woven into this role is combining the specialism from my Masters by working with the Director of Relationships and Funding to support the RNRMCs Strategy in meeting the need of beneficiaries today and in the future.

The focus of my current role is the group consolidation of the RNRMC. With 37 charitable funds and 7 sets of statutory accounts, this role requires strong controls across the finance team. My role is managing the operational accounting function of the group, working with a team of 7 members of staff of which 4 are directly line managed by myself to ensure that the Groups Financial Rulebook is carried out efficiently and effectively. The regular reporting consists of monthly fundraising reports, quarterly Trustee reports and operational dashboard to the Senior Management Team and bi-annual forecasting of budgets to ensure a rigorous financial control of the charity.I am responsible for providing reports to the main subcommittees of the group (Strategic Funding, Fundraising and Marketing, Finance, Risk and Audit Committee (as secretary)) and attend these meetings to provide commentary and advice on strategic matters, supporting the Chief Financial Officer throughout.

In this role I am providing Maternity cover for a 12 month period and moving from a role focused on The Royal Marines Charity to looking at the whole Group structure. Main Responsibilities below:- Quarterly Accounts for the RNRMC Group (Incl. Subsidiaries). - Lead Contact for the Statutory Audit.- Forecasting throughout the year for the the RNRMC Group (Incl. Subsidiaries). - Internal and External reporting to Senior Management Team & Trustees of various Boards within the Group structure- Preparing yearly Budget and 3 year forecast for the RNRMC Group (Incl. Subsidiaries). - Overseeing the RNRMC Group Finance Function and supervision of 4 members of Staff and associated Volunteers- Responsible for the general Operational running of The Royal Marines Charity.

Supporting the overall MCI UK Assocation Management and Consulting business unit, providing Management Accounts to our Associations on a monthly/quarterly basis, whilst also providing general finance guidance across all our business units.

Working within MCI UKs busy finance department, operating various transactions and controls. This included Cashbooks, Purchase and Sales Ledger, Petty Cash and Intercompany reporting alongside some Managerial information to the PCO teams. This role then expanded to cover some basic level Event reconciliations working with the Meetings and Event Department to reconcile events located in the UK and the EU.
