Dr. Samson, as the Chief of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine & Arthroscopic Surgery Department at St. Michael Hospital, is specialized in all kinds of sports medicine, joints and soft tissues problems from conservative approach, surgery to rehabilitation. He is professionally experienced with arthroscopy procedures in shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle joints. After finishing his M.Phil with scholarship on Sports Medicine from Fudan University with Prof. Chen Shiyi, he worked at Fudan University Huashan Hospital as a sports medicine surgeon at Dept. of Sports Medicine for 5 more years.At Year 2010 & 2011, Dr. Samson got 3rd place at “Shanghai Science and Technology prize in Integrative Medicine” and “Science and Technology Award of China Sports Science Society” respectively by his scientific research on muscles injury. He involves in writing about professional and general medicine for medical textbooks, magazines, newspapers and scientific journals, and also actively organizes or participates in different international medical training workshops and conferences keeping up with up-to-date technologies. Dr. Samson is being medical consultant at various sports teams, outdoor clubs and cycling teams. He is now the Chief Medical Officer for Shanghai Cycling League. Past and present, he provided medical service as an event doctor in 2008 Beijing Olympic, F1 Grand Prix, 14th FINA World Championship, FIA World Endurance Championship, Cup of China ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, IAAF Golden athletics League, TV Program “舞林大会” and circus “Saltimbanco”, treated numerous of world class elite athletes.Dr. Samson is very passionate in sports, he started his own extensive sports exercise training since his high school at Diocesan Boys’ School in Hong Kong, since then, he planned himself to be a sports medicine doctor. He is now a qualified rock climbing instructor, advanced personal fitness trainer and rescue diver.
