For the last few years I’ve been working mainly as a backend developer and as the go-to guy for anything related to devops. My passion lies somewhere in between – developing solid applications is good, but combining them with solid infrastructure and good development processes is great.On the development side I’ve done a bit of this and that. I’ve written tools and libraries, I’ve been involved in the development of brand new fancy things, and I’ve maintained and modernized legacy software that most people would rather not look at.Regarding infrastructure I consider myself pretty up-to-date when it comes to service providers, tooling and best practices. I have worked extensively with Amazon Web Services, but also with smaller infrastructure providers such as UpCloud, on anything from small single-server setups to larger auto-scaled environments.When programming in my spare time I strive to do things in the open as much as possible. I have a few projects and GitHub that are actually used by people, something which I didn’t think was going to happen when I started out developing them. I’ve also been involved in the development of Kodi (an open source media center) for the last few years, mostly working on the live TV functionality.
