Weekend Breakfast ProducerTalksportLondon, England, Gb -
Deputy Am EditorTalksport Apr 2024 - PresentLondonOn ad hoc basis. Responsible for overall station sound for mornings on talkSPORT. Ensuring highest editorial standards, top class guests and liaising with management and talent. -
Early Breakfast ProducerTalksport Sep 2023 - PresentProducing the Early Breakfast show on talkSPORT. A fast paced digest of news and views from the day between 5am and 6am. -
Producer - Live FootballTalksport Oct 2021 - PresentLondon, England, United KingdomProducing talkSPORT 2’s exclusive live football output on a Saturday afternoon GameDay including EFL (predominantly Championship) matches at 12.30pm and our chosen 3pm Premier League commentary. (On some weekends these may be replaced by live FA Cup matches). My duty is to produce and tech op the output to keep it running smoothly, liaise with commentators and presenters about particular topics or angles, ensure consistent mic levels, ensure delivery of sponsorship and promotion requirements and line up and cue any audio that is to be played through the course of the afternoon. Operating the desk and running out commercial playout system Zetta is another important requirement of the role. Keeping on top of any audio irregularities, glitches or line drops and reacting where necessary is an important part of the job. It’s essential in a live sport environment to be unflappable and calm under pressure. Having worked on (and produced) many live football and other sporting events including boxing, UFC and American Football I am well versed in these requirements. The producer should be one step ahead at all times covering all possibilities so that issues are dealt with as proactively and not reactively as possible. The producer in advance must also liaise with the presenter to set up discussion points, audio clips, news lines and observations to produce the most comprehensive live football coverage anywhere on national radio. We take pride in setting the standard for UK broadcasters.Producing live football on a national sports radio station on a Saturday afternoon is a major responsibility and one I’m delighted to be trusted with. -
Gameday: Your Verdict ProducerTalksport Aug 2019 - PresentLondon, United KingdomProducer for GameDay: Your Verdict, the listener phone in show immediately following talkSPORTs live and exclusive radio coverage of Premier League or FA Cup football on a Saturday. I work with regular presenters Faye Carruthers and Gabby Agbonlahor (previously Laura Woods and Darren Bent) to editorialise topics and talking points from the day's football action and formulate them into a radio programme which generates calls from a wide spectrum of fans - some measured, some passionate and some irate on the talking points or their team's performance. We play (mostly exclusive) match audio from the day - sometimes in the form of live interviews), ensure we deliver Sponsorship and Promotion requirements and maintain a flexibility throughout to ensure we are breaking up-to-the-minute news and running with the narrative the day (and often the callers) dictate. Clips from the show are often used on talkSPORT’s social media channels the following day. We will also use special guests when required; for example if there have been a range of questionable decisions, we will ask a referee to come on. We might also be joined by former players to discuss the plight of one of their former sides, or a lower league expert to discuss the stories from the day in the other tiers. The show is pacy and dynamic and the best place for callers to have their say as they are driving home from a game. -
Extra Time Producer And Co-PresenterTalksport Sep 2017 - Sep 2023London, United KingdomProducer for the weekday overnight output on talkSPORT beginning in September 2017; namely 'Extra Time' from 1am to 5am Monday to Thursday (previously Monday to Friday) hosted by Paul Ross. Other key responsibilities include dumping offensive content and being familiar with Ofcom regulations. Bath City Fc ReporterThe Non League Paper, Bath Chronicle Nov 2014 - May 2016Bath & South WestFor 2015/16 I am the Bath City FC reporter for the Bath Chronicle for most away games and the Non League Paper for home games. This involved turning around match reports to a very tight copy deadline, soon after the final whistle is blown. Reports for the NLP tend to be between 220 and 500 words depending on the type of report required while reports for the Chronicle mostly consist of between 450 and 500 word reports and then two separate pieces of post match/pre match quotes with manager and a player.Copy is turned around within two hours of the final whistle, within one hour on week day evenings. It goes without saying that copy needs to be accurate, consistent, entertaining and informative, aspects to which I believe I excel. On occasion, more than one report will need to be submitted. If this is the case, deadlines and expectations still apply. Please see attached for confirmation of my ability to undertake this unique challenge. These are both paid positions.
