Rock Mechanics Engineer - Graduate Program
Current• Conduct underground inspections to assess excavation stability and ground support system performance and integrity. • Assess mining layouts and extraction sequences and provide feedback to the Planning Department on mining layouts and design.• Develop rehabilitation prints and make rock engineering recommendations when identified as being necessary.• Conduct geotechnical field mapping (rock mass classification), drill core geotechnical logging, and rock mass characterization.• Complete long-hole stope design analysis, initiate cable bolt plans, and work with the planning engineers to review, make recommendations, and approve engineering mine plans.• Analyse seismic activity and initiate the seismic Trigger Action Response Plan when necessary. The analysis is also conducted when evaluating the potential to permit an early seismic ground clear.• Provide daily seismic reports to the Production and Rock Engineering team.• Manage the seismic system health status and the seismic system expansion.• Liaise with Production teams pertaining to ground control issues or initiatives and identify, and address, enquiries related to ground control from Production personnel.
