As a fresh grad my first projects were with Childcare Operator clients to understand their daily operational needs, balanced against the overall requirements of their parent organisations and relevant governing bodies (i.e. ECDA). Responsible for all iterations of the Schematic Design layouts, preparation of tender documents, Authorities' Corenet submissions, general contract administration, as well as attending and resolving discrepancies at site meetings.Afterwards I had opportunities to work on various Healthcare projects at various scales and scopes. From less design-heavy assignments which mainly required authorities submissions for existing works (e.g. URA change-of-use, SCDF fire protection works and amendments), to complete overhaul of architectural layouts and interior design consideration of spaces (e.g. planning registration circulation around covid protocol, material selection for aesthetic and branding consistency)Worked with a small close-knit team of various levels of experience. Deeply enjoyed this first job after graduating where I could learn the ropes and develop my skill sets. Although at times it felt like being tossed into the deep end, it was a surefire way that us newbies in the team could grow under pressure.

Exposed to the firm's design and building process, learnt the roles of project management, the challenges of running a (relatively) new firm, importance of working out a efficient workflow, maintaining of social media presence. Not to mention also helped out with their move to a bigger office space *phew*

Obtained class 3 and class 4 driving licences, which transferred over to my civilian licence when I completed service.Protection of key installations was a short stint where I was assigned to Jurong Island for several months. Stayed in guard towers and patrolled our given routes while adhering to armed protocol, patrolled several times throughout the night, before returning to base at sunrise.Ambulance driver duty was the bulk of my service in the unit, typically scheduled as 48hr periods that required us to be on standby to respond cases, from non-urgent ones (i.e. X-rays scheduled at the nearest hospital), to emergency cases (i.e. heatstroke, asthma attacks in camp).

A firm that focused on private residential landed homes. Experienced the family-like culture of a small architectural practice. Assisted with cad plans, and sketchup models. Very accommodating supervisor allowed for several site visits, and let me tag along the process to obtain plans from the relevant authority (BCA).
