This past summer I had the incredible opportunity for an intern position with Lifetime Financial Growth in their Indianapolis location. I received my first experience in the finance world and gained a lot of experience and knowledge from some of the best.During the months of May and June I gained my life and health producer license and received training in the office from mentors such as David Speckman, Thomas Coleman, and Paul Lee. The training revolved around our philosophy of protecting clients for retirement and using our LBS system to set them up for success.In the months of July and August I would be in and out of the office setting up meetings and relationships. It was a very fulfilling time helping people in my community become better prepared to face the unexpected costs of life and retire comfortably.

During my summer of 2023, I spent my time in the Kitchen of Bazbeaux's Pizza In Broad Ripple working 5-6 days a week. I would open and close the kitchen, preparing all of the food and ingredients in the morning and putting everything away and cleaning at night. I worked all over the kitchen including dough, toppings, ovens, salads, and dishwasher. It was a great experience to work in a fast paced environment and learning how to deal with multiple problems at once under pressure to keep our customers happy. Bazbeauxs has a great environment and a lively family of employees to work with. This was a rewarding and humbling experience.

My second job was working for a local farmer's market in a parking lot. I had my friends work with me and I had a great boss who also mentored me and showed me how he ran his business. The farmer's market was under this medium sized tent and our customers were normally regulars.My job consisted of:-Putting out merchadise-Keeping the place clean-Running cash register-Watering plants-Occasionally running the tent alone all dayMy biggest takeaway from this job is how important it is to have a connection with a customer. I had older folks come in every Sunday and chat with me for 10+ minutes about life. It was a great time and I also learned what it was like to run a business on your own. There were days when I would open and close and run the tent alone for the whole 10 hour day.

In 8th grade my parents wanted me to get a job and I applied to work for a nearby locally owned hardware store. I got the job and began my journey in the workforce. It was the perfect first job and I had an awesome group of people around me.My job consisted of:-Wiping down product, shelves, and floors-Stocking shelves-Assisting customers with questions and heavy lifting-Building grills and furniture-Truck deliveries-SalesI learned so much from this job and my coworkers in my four years at Sullivan's. My biggest takeaway was how to treat a customer and get them coming back. I also observed my boss Pat quite a bit and learned how to really run a business first hand.
