As the Maintenance Superintendent, Sam oversaw all of the maintenance activity within Swift Energy. Part of his job was the companywide implementation of an electronic Asset Management (eAM) system that tracks all company assets spread amongst three geographical areas. The system has been a great asset to the company and has been extremely successful in identifying maintenance trends. Sam is always trying to make those around him better and trying to improve the organization. For example, he developed a cost initiative plan that saved the company approximately $700,000 in 2013. To address the problem of leaking emission devices, Sam researched and purchased a FLIR camera and sent five field personnel to training to operate the camera. The camera is an important part of my preventative maintenance activities and has helped prevent emission violations. Sam was not only my boss, but also my coach and mentor. An employee would be lucky to have Sam as a manager."
