Samuel Abecassis, a 12th-grade student at Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles, is an elite MLS NEXT midfielder. His experience in soccer fuels his innovative research, exploring flow states and performance in both traditional and amputee athletes. This work led to a lab assistant position at the UCSF Human Performance Center, where he analyzed amputee gait patterns pre- and post-biofeedback intervention. Samuel currently works as an assistant coach for the inaugural USA Blind Soccer Team, preparing for the 2028 Paralympics. Driven by a deep interest in phenomenology, his future research aims to induce and control flow states at will through their philosophical origins.
