I'm proud to be working at the USBE, now as a manager. Public education is vital for society, and I want to contribute to ensuring it's efficient, rigorous, and moving in the right direction.

Helping analyze education independently and objectively for Utahns.

Tasked with researching various programs and policies at BYU EPP. Currently working to revise and improve BYU EPP's disposition tool, which involved presenting research to associate deans and program chairs. Also helped lead and supervise the completion of the annual report -- selecting variables, harvesting data, presenting information, and making recommendations.

Created surveys, met with clients, submitted IRB proposals, coded data, compiled and presented findings--basically did anything and everything my professors asked of me. In the realm of research, there's always more to learn, assumptions to challenge, and an ever-expanding pool of knowledge.

Oversaw the training of all new hires and all field-training officers. Revamped the training program to increase its clarity, brevity, and effectiveness. Created a survey to gauge the effectiveness and experience new hires have during their initial training. Used Word to simplify the document used for filing incidents that happened during security investigations. These managerial and program evaluation skills not only helped improve security officers' efficiency, but also helped improve the public image of security officers at the library. Additionally, I worked to enforce library policies, ensure the safety of millions of dollars of assets, and to maintain the security of the facility itself in small groups, which employed the following programs: Excel, Word, Genetec (a security camera monitoring system), and C-CURE 9000 (a security system for managing alarms).
