Following the completion of my undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, I was employed at Apotex pharmaceuticals in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My experience at Apotex gave me an extensive understanding of the complexities of the pharmaceutical industry. I was given the opportunity to become fully trained in the areas of Good Manufacturing Practices as well as global regulatory affairs which dictate the level of compliance the pharmaceutical industry must meet. My role as a Production Investigator dealing with pharmaceutical production deviations has required the application of critical analysis thinking in order to look at numerous different potential factors to conduct a root cause analysis and determine the appropriate corrective and preventative actions. I left Apotex in August 2018 in order to pursue further education at the University of Nottingham in the field of Microbiology. Following acquiring an MSc in Clinical and Molecular Microbiology I plan to continue my career in the healthcare industry.
