Working in the Mine Technical Services (Mine Survey Department ),I do these tasks:- Assist Surveyors on the field to conduct and undertake the surveys works for the mine.- Lay out blast patterns (i.e. drill patterns, after-drill pick-ups and ore control polygons), prior to blasting activities.- Prepare topographic maps, face updates, presentations on pit floors and dumps conditions and make inventories for Rompad.-Operate field GPS, total station to determine as-built pickups for volume calculations and defining field points for the mining engineers.- Monitor prims installed by Geotech team for pit wall movements.- Pick up water levels for TSF, Pit lakes and Sumps.In addition to my duties as a surveyor, I have gone on cross training at other departments. A summary of a few are as follows :- Joined Mine Geology as an ore control personnel tallying truck loads and rehandled material as dumped into the gyro crusher.- Joined Short Term Planning.- Joined Dispatch.- Joined Geotech/Hydro.

As a team member of the Survey and Design Section, I worked on the following:- Initiate design levels on ground for U-drain and culvert excavation works.- Pick formation levels to check if ground levels match with road design before sub-base, base and surface materials are spread for road completion.- Compare formation levels taken on site to design formation levels using Microsoft Excel.- Check alignment for road setting out and drain excavation.- Using Agisoft Metashape software for processing drone images.- Use of AutoCAD for making plans and profiles for road design.

As an intern with the Survey and Mapping Division of the Ashanti Regional Lands Commission, I was involved in the following activities:- Stake out coordinates for land demarcation.- Survey lands for the purpose of land use and land demarcation- Prepare plans from data derived from survey and any amendment of the plan.- Conduct other forms of survey such as aerial photogrammetry and topographical surveys.- Preserve records relating to survey of any parcel of land.
