I have spent the last two years researching radio pulsars. I have written a suite of software in Python which can be used to simulate the population of radio pulsars in the Milky Way, and am now using that software to analyse the properties of these stars. Last semester I taught a class of undergraduates how to begin analysis of our data, developing and training a machine learning code which I used to discover a new pulsar in our data.

Working as an IT consultant, I worked for two large companies in the oil and pharmaceutical industries. I developed a web-based interface to a database in order to perform analysis of the CO2 footprint involved in the production and distribution of petroleum around the world. At the pharmaceutical firm, I worked as part of a large team developing an automated data-taking system, in order that experimental results could be stored in a new database. I developed a VBA code to dynamically produce excel worksheets which could be fed directly into the database.
