Mathematics teacher for K-12 students.

PI: Dr. Marco Aldi. This research focuses on topics in Mathematical Physics (Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanical systems (SQMs) are largely emphasized). Main focus is currently on the association of strong homotopy Lie algebras with finite hypergraphs and the application of this new construction by examining the cohomologies of the resulting algebras as well as studying the sympletic forms that arise in the structure of these algebras.

Mentor: Dr. David Richards. The pion and kaon are the lightest mesons composed of two light quarks, and a light quark and a strange quark, respectively. Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) is the theory of the strong interactions, describing how hadrons such as the pion and kaon, emerge from the quarks and gluons. New developments in lattice QCD enable key aspects of their structure, in particular the longitudinal structure encoded in the Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs). This project is to perform lattice computations of the PDFs, beginning with the distribution of the valence quarks within the kaon, and then to extend the computations to that of the so-called gluon distributions. This is a continuation of a previous project - this term will focus on gluon distributions.

Mentor: Dr. David Richards. Theoretical Nuclear Physics intern at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility working on the project titled "Pion and Kaon Properties" with the theory group.

Undergraduate SLA assisting the instructor in their precalculus classes at VCU as well as aiding students in their learning both inside and outside of scheduled work hours.

Mentor: Dr. David Richards. Created code to analyze the theoretic pion data generated on the JLab supercluster computers.
