My name is Samuel Bischel, and I am a senior striving for excellence at Eastern Kentucky University. I am majoring in Marketing with a concentration in Professional Golf Management. I am very involved in the PGM Program here at EKU as I serve as the Vice President of Student Affairs. I enjoy competing in our Tournament Program because it is challenging and fun. During my time at EKU, I have received a few honorable awards. I was awarded with EKU Freshman Student of the Year for the PGA PGM Class of 2025. I received the same award my second year as I was named Sophomore Student of the Year. Being a successful student, I have also been awarded an Opal and Kermit Patterson Scholarship. In November of 2023, I was asked by the PGM Staff to represent the PGM Program at the 2023 PGA Annual Meeting in Frisco, Texas. It was a wonderful experience as I met a number of interesting people and learned a great deal about the governance of the PGA of America.As an aspiring PGA Professional, I am committed to furthering my education and professional development. Having a strong work ethic combined with leadership and accountability has allowed me to be successful. My optimal learning method involves observing others, and I consistently demonstrate reliability in completing tasks. Attaining my marketing degree will give me the essential skills needed to thrive in the golf business. I am passionate about the game of golf and committed to its continued growth. I am excited to continue my journey to PGA Membership and am looking forward to making a career in the golf industry.
