Hello, I’m Sam Broomer and I’ve been in the (re)insurance business since I graduated from Bryant University in 1993. The entirety of my journey, inclusive of all the successes that I’ve enjoyed, is because of other people. I really mean that - everything worth doing, no matter how simple or complex, can be made better with the contribution of others, by having a practiced mindset of otherness. I’m very grateful for the countless opportunities that so many have afforded me and my family. As a result, I always try to be the first to give, seeking to help others as I’ve been so generously helped today and in the past.You may have heard me say that our industry is a big business and a small community. I’m better for all the people that I’ve met, work with and have yet to meet; true professionals in (Re)insurance, (Re)insurance Broking, Venture Capital, InsurTech, Innovation, Consulting and Product Development, just to name a few... I’ve been fortunate to lead successful & diverse teams, materially grow businesses, create new insurance products & markets and by using an inclusionary Innovators mindset, to have created future revenue pools that materially move the Total Book Value needle. In summary, I’m a curious life-long learner seeking to engage with others, and for others, with aspirations that my potential may someday result in meaningful positive change for humanity. I consider myself a true practitioner and student of the (re)insurance business, an innovator that seeks outcomes through becoming better at not knowing, making evidence-based decisions, starting from a place of ‘how might we’ and truly listening to lead.
