My role at Marco was varied and consisted of:Designing customer specific systems and machinery. Their aim was to improve the efficiency and productivity of customer’s factory, primarily within the food and fresh produce sectors, some of which were ATEX environments. This involved international travel for pre-design surveys and meetings.Working with manufacturers and fabricators, involving attaining quotes for designs and discussing designs to increase cost effectiveness.Championing CE and other approvals production, involving product analysis, manuals generation and the completion of risk assessments.Leading teams of engineers on installations of complex and more advance designs.Training customers in software and hardware use.

“The aim of the URNU is to broaden Naval understanding and develop undergraduates who show potential to become the leaders of tomorrow, through maritime experience and exposure to the values and ethos of the Royal Navy.” I joined/worked for Sussex URNU during my second and third years of university, where I gained many life experiences. Through Sussex URNU I developed my leadership and management skills while completing training towards the CMI Level 5 award.

I worked with groups of students ranging from 10-18 years old during their summer games lessons teaching athletics. The lessons were completed to a strict timetable and to a high standard of safety, due to the students using dangerous throwing implements. This required me to be organised and responsible to fit the running, planning and invoicing of these sessions around my other jobs and university course.Within the three summer terms which I worked for Brighton college, I had a variety of success'. These ranged from athletes simply understanding the techniques taught and generally improving, to athletes winning county titles and representing Sussex schools at the national championships.

I was asked to return to Servomex to assist in the preparation the ‘Oxydetect’ product for release into the marketplace. This involved working with others on FMEAs and CE approval. In addition, I helped design engineers with their CAD work load.

I worked as a student intern for the mechanical engineering department. I learnt CAD skills and product development, allowing me to create concept designs of a testing jig to be used for product presentations.
