. My goal is to become a wildlife veterinarian looking for any and all opportunities to build experience with animals. I have worked with many dogs volunteering at the Plano animal shelter caring for and handling many different sizes and personalities. The experience I have gained from shelter work has allowed me to see the good and bad of taking care of animals. This has made me mentally tough in what some would call saddening situations. The joy In giving the animals time to play and human contact is more then I can explain. My paid work experience comes from tutoring AVID students in various PISD schools. This job entails working with students in groups of 3-6, Mentoring and tutoring them in their homework along with teaching them skills necessary for higher education. Examples of these skills are not limited to communication, group work, confidence in oneself and a team. The students help me exercise patience at times while also giving me an appreciation for the power of communication and relationship building.
