• Designed water-cooled, probe injection system in SolidWorks for plasmatron wind tunnel to allow for efficient data collection in a high enthalpy, vacuum environment• Assisted in over-arching design of plasmatron components in SolidWorks and planning of facility layout • Produced technical drawings for manufacturer and faculty member revision to begin the manufacturing process• Evaluated potential heat exchanger performance through thermodynamic simulations in ANSYS Fluent

• Designing new swan neck rear wing mounting to increase the total amount of down force produced and improve structural knowledge of loading in composites• Optimizing main element profile and position of rear wing elements through Star-CCM+ 2D simulations to eliminate flow separation and transience. • Analyzed carbon fiber rear wing in ANSYS ACP in worst-case deformation scenarios and found that a decrease in one ply caused an increase of over 100% deformation in the wing element• Compared different material performance in ACP by simulating 3-point bend test and coupon testing with physical testing validation and observed a factor of six in decreased material properties from data sheets • Machined foam molds for new aero elements using the ShopBot CNC in preparation for carbon fiber layups
